Maria Shriver announces that she and Arnold Schwarzenegger have separated.

After 25 years and four kids the happy couple are no longer happy.  It is a shame since most marriages never see 25 years these days.

Though, I am from the south and I notice most of my high school friends did have long marriages.  Many are still married to their original spouse!

In Hollywood though, we all know that is not often the case.  With careers that require long stints away from home and all the temptations that movie stars have in their life it shouldn't be a huge surprise that so many Hollywood marriages fail.  In fact, it is the exception.  But the tip of my had to Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger for hanging in there for 25 years.



Much is being said around blogs on the net about their differing political views but I doubt that had much, if anything to do with this split.  After all, Mary Matalin and James Carville have managed to stay married despite each working for different political parties.  Maria Shriver's dirty laundry will likely make its way onto your TV screens soon enough..The reasons for the separation of a public couple rarely remain secret and I doubt it will be any different in the case for Maria Shriver.
