Dollar To Philippine Peso
The US dollar to Philippine peso rate has been improving substantially in the last few days. Improving for Americans living in the Philippines.
Just when it looked like the dollar would fall below 40 things turned around. Will they stay in this direction? Hard to say but I think they will. The one thing that would destroy this trend is if the US defaults on its debt. Something which I think is way too possible in the current political climate.
There are a multitude of reasons for this turn around. Here are the ones I can think of:

There are a multitude of reasons for this turn around. Here are the ones I can think of:
- Quantitative easing in the USA will end next month.
- The Euro is in the midst of a debt crises.
- Gold is at historical highs.
- The dollar is near historical lows.
- Inflation risk in the UK.
- Increased inflation in Asia.
- Fear of decreased growth in Asia
- The US stock market may be headed for a bear market.
For the last 18 months or so those of us living in the Philippines have seen a huge drop in our spending power. Some thought it would never turn around. I blame really poor media coverage and those wishing to sell their newsletters for that.
I thought things would turn around but I thought it would start about a month for now. The debt crises with Greece seems to have jump started this a little early. Thank you Greece. :)
The thing about Forex Philippines, no matter how badly the dollar is doing, other currencies can do even worse. People make the mistake of not considering factors in other nations. And an understanding of basic economics and historical trends will tell most that things will improve.

Cannon has been a Fortune Magazine’s for some time.
This year it moved up from number six to number five in the list of most admired companies.

I know, that I personally am dying to get my hands on one of the better Cannon DSLR. Some of them will never be in my price range but that's okay. Some of the lower cost ones will do just fine. One of these days I will have one. Even if I have to charge it. haha
Yes, i want a Cannon over the Nikon, for one reason is the self cleaning internal lens. I know someone that had a Nikon that just refused to operate until she could return back to her home country and have it cleaned.
I bought an Olympus about 2 years ago. One of their little under water camera's that works just fine but it cannot do the kind of quality that I long for. I'm glad I bought it as I got it at a huge discount just before they released their upgraded model. But, I long for the Cannon DSLR and soon, I will have one.

The Bin Laden Death Hoax
Some of what is being said about Bin Laden's death being a hoax is laughable.
I think that some of these people are playing on the racism lying underneath much of the hatred toward Obama.

Maria Shriver
Maria Shriver announces that she and Arnold Schwarzenegger have separated.
After 25 years and four kids the happy couple are no longer happy. It is a shame since most marriages never see 25 years these days.
Though, I am from the south and I notice most of my high school friends did have long marriages. Many are still married to their original spouse!
In Hollywood though, we all know that is not often the case. With careers that require long stints away from home and all the temptations that movie stars have in their life it shouldn't be a huge surprise that so many Hollywood marriages fail. In fact, it is the exception. But the tip of my had to Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger for hanging in there for 25 years.
Much is being said around blogs on the net about their differing political views but I doubt that had much, if anything to do with this split. After all, Mary Matalin and James Carville have managed to stay married despite each working for different political parties. Maria Shriver's dirty laundry will likely make its way onto your TV screens soon enough..The reasons for the separation of a public couple rarely remain secret and I doubt it will be any different in the case for Maria Shriver.

Barack Obama and The Jimmy Carter Label?
There are many stories around the web asking if Barack Obama has shed is Jimmy Carter label.
Did Barack Obama ever deserve a Jimmy Carter label? Of course not. Obama has never been weak on defense or taking military action.
Two days after Obama when into office US drone attacks into Pakistan increases. Did cowboy George Bush kill Osama? No, Obama got Osama. Now in all fairness, the information that lead to the raid on Obama's compound was developed from a source captured under the Bush Administration. We should also note that torture didn't get to the truth though.
Obama does take military action but he does it with a minimalist approach. Which is perfect. We should avoid using force at all times. I said avoid, I didn't say don't do it.
Jimmy Carter was a much better president than he was given credit for. If he was so weak, why didn't the Iranian students holding our hostages let the hostages out while he was still in office. If they had perceived him as weak, I can assure you they would have tired to help him stay in power.
The Jimmy carter label of being weak on defense is not accurate. Jimmy Carter's presidency failed because of world events and he deserves some blame in that he was unable to delegate. He is a control freak and he wanted his hands on everything. He never learned to delegate. Perhaps his leader ship skills were weak. A strong leader should be able to delegate.
Obama does not deserve that Jimmy Cater label and Jimmy Cater never deserved the label of being weak on defense.
