Let's Go Walleye Fishing

I've always wanted to go Walleye fishing. Not dead how to get started. I did find this article about where to go Walleye Fishing.

Have you ever gone fishing for Walleye?  If so, please tell me why you like it or didn't like it.
They look a lot like bass to me but are they different or are they closely related to bass fishing? They seem a little thinner.
I'm quitting smoking right now, so doing anything new helps keep my mind off smoking. I've been too sick to smoke so I'm using it as a time to quit. I hate being a smoker. I quite for 25 years and started back after all that time! A new hobby like fishing would be very helpful to stay away from those killers.
Why do walleye prefer colder climents? Seems if they could do well in Canada they could do even better in Missississippi.
Hope you folks will help me get started in the sport of Walleye fishing.

American Gerfa Lunsmann Kidnapped In The Philippines

An American woman and her two young travel companions have been kidnapped in the Philippines, probably by terrorist that are part of the Abu Sayyaf group but so far that is not known.

Details are sketchy at best. I cannot determine the exact area where this happened but the general area is a known danger point for Americans and in my opinion American's should not go to rural areas in the Zamboanga Peninsular and that goes double for the small island in the Sulu sea where this woman was kidnapped.

If this group has her, they will not release her without the cash being delivered or the Armed Forces of The Philippines rescuing her.  If that happens you can be sure special forces of the USA will also be involved in a so called supportive position only. It is illegal for foreign combat operation to take place on Philippines soil but it believed to happen anyway. An American unmanned American aircraft was shot down in the area a few years ago.

Couple Forecloses on Bank of America

This is sweet justice!

The Bank of America tried to foreclose on a home in Florida but the couple that owned the home bought the bank for cash.

The couple prevented the foreclosure but incurred substantial legal fees.  The court ordered Bank of America to pay the couples legal bills.  The bank ignored the request to pay for several months so the couple sized a local branch office of Bank of America in Florida.  The couple took the money in the teller's cages and the furniture in the bank and padlocked the doors!

The attorney for the couple is quoted as saying that the manager of the local bank presented him with a check for the legal fees within a few hours.

Dollar To Philippine Peso

The US dollar to Philippine peso rate has been improving substantially in the last few days. Improving for Americans living in the Philippines.

Just when it looked like the dollar would fall below 40 things turned around.  Will they stay in this direction?  Hard to say but I think they will.  The one thing that would destroy this trend is if the US defaults on its debt.  Something which I think is way too possible in the current political climate.

There are a multitude of reasons for this turn around.  Here are the ones I can think of:

• Quantitative easing in the USA will end next month.
• The Euro is in the midst of a debt crises.
• Gold is at historical highs.
• The dollar is near historical lows. 
• Inflation risk in the UK.
• Increased inflation in Asia.
• Fear of decreased growth in Asia
• The US stock market may be headed for a bear market.

For the last 18 months or so those of us living in the Philippines have seen a huge drop in our spending power.  Some thought it would never turn around.  I blame really poor media coverage and those wishing to sell their newsletters for that.

I thought things would turn around but I thought it would start about a month for now.  The debt crises with Greece seems to have jump started this a little early.  Thank you Greece. :)

The thing about Forex Philippines, no matter how badly the dollar is doing, other currencies can do even worse.  People make the mistake of not considering factors in other nations.  And an understanding of basic economics and historical trends will tell most that things will improve.

I know, that I personally am dying to get my hands on one of the better Cannon DSLR.  Some of them will never be in my price range but that's okay.  Some of the lower cost ones will do just fine.  One of these days I will have one.  Even if I have to charge it. haha


Yes, i want a Cannon over the Nikon, for one reason is the self cleaning internal lens.  I know someone that had a Nikon that just refused to operate until she could return back to her home country and have it cleaned.


I bought an Olympus about 2 years ago.  One of their little under water camera's that works just fine but it cannot do the kind of quality that I long for.  I'm glad I bought it as I got it at a huge discount just before they released their upgraded model.  But, I long for the Cannon DSLR and soon, I will have one.
